Other Visas both temporary and permanent are avaiaible to come to Australia

OTHER VISAS:

Permanent Family Stream Visas

PARENT

A parent visa is available where that parent has the balance of their children living in Australia, or the most in any country is Australia. Presence in Australia means permanent residence. The sponsoring child needs to show they are settled before sponsoring. The most practical parent visa requires a financial contribution as a second visa application charge just before grant. Hallmark Immigration assists many families with this particular visa. All these applications are made in Australia. Key is the balance of family test and the residence test of the sponsoring child and other children.

Sole Remaining Relative

A common situation after sponsoring their parents is that of a brother or sister with just one unmarried sibling remaining outside Australia. They can sponsor them on this visa when certain circumstances prevail.  Key is the definition of remaining relative.

Aged Dependent Relative, Orphan Child, Carer

These are less common situations, each with “technical rules” requiring very close attention. For the carer visa there is a close examination of the medical classification of the person needing care and a review of family structure to determine if an Australian resident is merely disinclined to provide the necessary care.  For the Orphan Child there is a close examination of the situation where there is a surviving parent that is merely disinclined to be a parent and a close examination of any claimed incapacity of the surviving parent. For any Aged Dependent Relative the applicant has to be widowed or single and there is a close examination of any dependence over the previous 3 years. In modern economies, dependence financially in the context of government pensions can be difficult to show.

VISIT, Temporary  and Other Visas

Visit Visas, private and business purposes

Private Purpose includes visiting to find out more about Australia, tourism, recreation, meet friends and relatives. It is not possible to work in Australia on these visas.

Short Term Business Purpose includes attending educational or business related meetings, seminars, conventions, conferences, or networking, negotiations or exploring business opportunities, doing informal studies or training. Short-term work is only permitted in strictly limited circumstances. Hallmark Immigration can provide detailed advice on your particular proposal.

For relatives in Australia there is an opportunity to sponsor liberal family visitor visas for family events with the subclass 679 visa.

Working Holiday or Work and Holiday

For certain passport holders, there is a once in a lifetime working holiday visa from 1 year for those under 31 years of age and no dependents. It is the subclass 417 Working Holiday, which is applied for on-line. Also a subclass 462 visa. There is a work permission within limits (6 months with any one employer) and a permission to study up to 4 months.  Extendable or second grant if worked in regional areas in particular occupations.  Those considering this visa as a stepping stone to a later application for residence in Australia should contact Hallmark Immigration for strategic advice concerning the impact on the points test in their particular circumstances.
